9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
The barn secretary will be available to answer any questions you may have, and you may be able to observe lessons in progress.
Appointments for horse riding lessons and trail rides
All riding is by advance appointment arranged with the barn secretary.
As a rule, a minimum of one working day is required to schedule or cancel a riding lesson or a trail ride. However, same-day booking for a mid-week trail ride is sometimes possible.
Appointments may be scheduled up to a month in advance. Changes or cancellations must be made with 24 hours' notice to avoid a 50% late cancellation fee.
Hours
Fox Hill is open for riding year-round, Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to
6 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are also some evening lessons available during the week. Please call for the current schedule.
DIRECTIONS
By car from New York City and points south
Fox Hill is located just north of the intersection of the Sprain, Bronx River and Saw Mill River Parkways, where the Taconic Parkway begins.
Follow any of the above-mentioned parkways to the Taconic Parkway north bound. Take the first exit past the intersection (less than 1/2 mile), which is Route 117. At the end of the exit ramp make a left onto Route 117. Make another left at the second light onto Route 448.
Travel only a few hundred yards on Route 448, then make a right onto Old Sleepy Hollow Road. Fox Hill is approximately 1/2 mile down Old Sleepy Hollow Road on the right side of the road.
By car from points north
Take the Taconic Parkway south bound to the Pleasantville Road exit (there is no south bound exit to Route 117). Make a left onto Pleasantville Road and proceed approximately one mile to the intersection with Route 117. Make a right onto Route 117 and travel approximately 3 miles to the third traffic light, which is the intersection with Route 448. Make a left onto Route 448, then follow the direction in the preceding paragraph.
By Metro North Railroad
Take the Harlem Line to the Pleasantville station. When you arrive, you can call a taxi service (phone numbers are in the station) to take you to Fox Hill.
For a more scenic ride, take the Hudson Line to the Scarborough station. The taxi ride to Fox Hill will be a little longer, but the scenery along the Hudson River is worth the extra expense.
